$30 dollars per lesson
Monthly lessons are charged for the full month on the first Sunday of the month
Practice a minimum of 15 minutes every day
Practice is boring. I warned you.
To help with the boredom, practice while watching something like T.V., Netflix, YouTube, etc. Practice small bites, like just one or two chords, until you can do it with no thought. Then add on one more chord.
I strongly suggest practicing as much as possible, not just 15 minutes.
First, practice what I instruct and after you can do this with little effort, then practice anything that is fun
What I give you to practice, depending on the level, should only take about 3 days of 15-minute practice
Practicing while watching something else (TV, Netflix, YouTube, etc) is encouraged
Playing guitar with others is encouraged and tell me what happened in the following lessons so both of us can have context
Only students or student’s friends are allowed in after the first month
It’s reasonable for the parents to be in on the first few lessons to make sure they are comfortable with me and the teaching space
In order for the student to feel completely free to express themselves, they must attend the lesson by themselves. Even if you don’t think you’ll be a distraction, the student thinks about the parent in the room, not what they are concentrating on. Students must be comfortable talking in any manner they want. This may include language, tone, or volume the parent doesn’t prefer. Students don’t normally care about what their friend thinks.
Students might hear each other play. This helps with self-evaluation. If one student hears what mistakes other students are making, they are less likely to make the mistake themselves. They are also less self-conscious because this is a fellow student who is in the same situation.
There is a couch for students to practice on if errand running takes longer than expected
You are only allowed to compare yourself to who you were yesterday
